Commercial Electrical Upgrades in the Phoenix Valley
Most commercial buildings in the Valley were wired for the business that was in them thirty years ago. Then the use changed, the equipment changed, and the electrical stayed exactly the same. At The Wire Guy Electric, we handle the upgrades that bring a building's electrical up to what the business actually needs now.
What We Upgrade
- Panels and distribution. Replacing failing or full panels, adding subpanels, and cleaning up distribution that has been added to piecemeal for decades.
- Service capacity. When the building genuinely cannot carry the load, coordinated with the utility.
- Feeders. Undersized feeders to a suite or a piece of equipment are a common finding and a real constraint.
- Equipment circuits for new machinery, kitchen equipment, compressors, and server rooms.
- Lighting and controls, usually alongside an LED conversion.
- Grounding and bonding corrections, which is one of the more common things we find wrong in older buildings.
Start With the Load Calculation
Every one of these projects should begin with real math rather than an assumption. A load calculation tells you what the service can carry, what is actually connected, and how much headroom is left.
That matters because the answer is frequently better than expected. Plenty of buildings have adequate service and a distribution problem, which is a much smaller project than a service upgrade.
When the service genuinely is the constraint, knowing early lets you plan the utility coordination and the downtime instead of discovering it the week new equipment arrives.

Upgrades in a running business live or die on scheduling. We phase the work so the parts that require a shutdown happen off-hours, give property management notice for anything affecting shared distribution, and keep the building operating while the work is underway.
